Our Externship Goal
Gain hands on experience with a wide variety of diagnostic and treatment disciplines. As an extern you will be exposed to a large variety of cases including medicine, surgery, acupuncture and lameness exams. Our aim is to provide students with a realistic example of a successful ambulatory practice.
Case Types
60% Lameness
20% Medicine
20% Surgery
We are located in beautiful Uxbridge Massachusetts, but our practice covers not only southern Massachusetts but also northern Rhode Island. In addition our practice is less than twenty minutes from the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, a major large animal referral center.
Intern Prerequisites
We prefer that intern candidates have visited as an extern prior to application, although this is not required. In addition, eligibility for a Massachusetts license is required.
Applications will only be accepted through the official VIRMP website.
